Another Hawaii staple! Portuguese sausage is a firm, spicy, pork-based sausage that can be eaten for every meal. Breakfast: Portuguese Sausage, eggs, and rice. Lunch: Portuguese sausage musubi (rice ball). Snack: slices of sausage fried and served alone. Dinner: Portuguese bean soup with Kings Hawaiian bread on the side
Another Hawaii food find in Jungle Jim's. Takuan (Japanese-style pickled radish) from Kula, Maui. Great with rice! Warning: when opened, this will stink up your kitchen, much to your family/housemates' disdain.
I was so excited to fine this! #SunNoodle is a noodle factory based in Hawaii and their fresh noodles (okinawan soba, ramen, yakisoba, etc) are sold in every grocery store in Hawaii. Upon further research, I found out they also have factories in LA and New Jersey, and produce noodles for restaurants like Momofuku. I was worried that since the noodles were frozen (rather than refrigerated), and may have been on the shelf for a while, they would lose their chewiness, but actually they didn't lose much in quality!
