Red velvet, chocolate, and peanut butter cup. Each had a little touch of milk chocolate, surprised in the middle. The red velvet was topped with a nonpareil and was almost entirely flavorless. The chocolate was topped with a chocolate button and had a very moist cake with velvety ganache-like frosting. The peanut butter was topped with a mini pb cup and had a dry, crumbly cake with a velvety smooth ganache-like frosting. If we could top the chocolate cake with the peanut butter frosting, it would be perfectly heavenly.
Marinated and grilled whole chicken with "hot" peri-peri sauce and a side of butternut squash with grilled corn, red onion, dried cranberries, cilantro, and chili. They were both AMAZING. Try the garlic and wild herb peri-peri sauces on the squash as well. Even more delicious!
A robust mix of bell peppers, cucumber, tomatoes, celery, olives and feta with dressing. It was incredibly fresh, crispy, and bright, although a little on the oily side. The feta cheese was a perfect complement to the veggies.
Torn bread, clothbound cheddar, 'appalachian,' braised onions, vegetable broth (beef-free). This soup was a tad salty, but delicious with the chunks of onion and slightly crispy bread peeking out from the broth with the toasty cheese.
Romaine head halved, grilled, and topped with a drizzle of dressing and Parmesan. Deconstructed style, with a side of dressed tomatoes & onions, and croutons. Perfect amount of dressing on the entire dish and smokiness throughout.
