Franklin Cockerill


Franklin Cockerill has excelled in the translation of basic science principles into clinical applications for diagnosing and treating patients. Two major aspects of his work focused on the development of novel testing methods for the rapid and efficient detection of agents of bioterrorism and antibiotic resistance. Cockerill was an Editor of the Journal of Clinical Microbiology from 2005 to 2010. Franklin Cockerill has been published numerous peer-reviewed papers, abstracts and book chapters related to the diagnosis of and treatment of infectious diseases. Additionally he has presented numerous lectures at national and international venues to the scientific community.
