Spotted February 13, 2012I didn't understand what Gravlax meant until...now: During the Middle Ages, gravlax was made by fishermen, who salted the salmon and lightly fermented it by burying it in the sand above the high-tide line. The word gravlax comes from the Scandinavian word grav, which literally means "grave" or "to dig" (in Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Dutch and Estonian), and lax (or laks), which means "salmon", thus gravlax means "buried salmon".

Spotted February 07, 2012I didn't actually try this but my friend didn't really like it that much. I guess they should stick to meatballs! I was going to add facts about Salmon but found information about Parasites in Salmon fish - so let's stick to nothing shall we? ;)

Wicked Sheila Haha... Well, they never cook with fresh ingredients in Ikea's kitchen. So, that explains a lot. I never thought about it, till my friend told me that who worked at one of their restaurants.
Hammburger don't try the cooked salmon, go for the healthier alternative which is tastier: the smoked salmon salad...
T We learnt out lesson!
