As you know, OpenTable acquired Foodspotting in 2013, not only for its amazing content, but also for its incredibly loyal and engaged community. Since then, you’ve been instrumental in how friends and experts alike discover the best dishes across the world, and for that, we just want to say thank you.

But as the saying goes, all good things must come to an end. After much deliberation, we have chosen to discontinue the Foodspotting app and website in early May. If you’d like to keep all the photos you’ve captured over the years, we encourage everyone to take this opportunity to download your content. Click here for details

Besides showcasing your products or recommendations by creating a profile or guides, as described here, you can put the following tools to use in creative ways:

  • Spot to Win: Reach people who spot at particular restaurants, spot particular dishes or use particular hashtags by entering them into a photo contest or drawing. Entrants will see your branded response and messaging every time they spot, and anyone who follows them will see that they've been entered as well!
  • Golden Ticket Giveaways: Surprise & delight foodseekers and encourage them to seek out your brand by hiding golden tickets in our stream. We'll let your target audience know to look for your tickets whenever they launch the app and encourage winners to share their excitement on Facebook, Twitter and beyond.
  • Guides: Our guides can be used to facilitate scavenger hunts, collect nominations, direct event attendees to great dishes and more. Guides are already pretty self-serve, but reach out to us if you need advanced features or support.
