Spotted July 30, 2011Here's the finished product! These were so good, the soupy meat filling was oh so flavorful. I loved the thick, pinched tops, but according to Wikipedia, Georgians traditionally discarded these to keep track of how many dumplings they ate. -
Spotted July 30, 2011Ended up getting these #handmade khinkali because they were less expensive than Royal's ($6.50), but hopefully about as good!-

Spotted July 30, 2011Woah, never had #Georgian #Dumplings before, and apparently, done right, they're soup dumplings! Can't find a restaurant that serves them nearby, guess we'll make them at home! -

Spotted January 29, 2010These. Were. PERFECT! These are the XLB that I've been searching for since Vancouver! I haven't tried their rival, Joe's, but these were all I want in a soup dumpling, and SO much better than ANYTHING in San Francisco. Huge, thick skin, lots of soup, delicious meat -- plus you can watch them making them in the kitchen! Flushing is amazing too: Worth the trip!-
Alexa Andrzejewski These are truly the best XLB! I just had Joe's, and these were much much better! Now how to convince the team to go to Flushing?!

Bruce I've been disappointed ordering Xiao Long Bao in so many places that I rarely order it any more outside of a few select places (Din Tai Fung in Tokyo is a favorite). It seems that many places have no soup in their Xiao Long Bao which misses the whole point of the dish.
Alexa Andrzejewski Yeah -- these ones weren't particularly soupy. If you like pan-fried pork buns, however, Shanghai Flavor Shop in the South Bay is amazing!
Michael This is my favorite place to get xiao long bao

Spotted November 23, 2009I've tried a lot of XLB, including the "best" in San Francisco, but nothing has compared to these! The skin was the perfect thickness and texture. I haven't found anything like it!-
Randy F. Looks amazing! I never had a chance to have great xiao long bao in Vancouver (was too busy eating all the other food). Will have to try this place! My favorite xiao long bao places are still Ding Tai Fung and Joe's Shanghai.....the photos are too blurry to post to Foodspotting! BTW I'm having a lot of fun with your site!
Alexa Andrzejewski I'm glad you're having fun because you're spotting all the things I *love* -- prime rib, steak, noodles, ramen... who could ask for more? We'll have to do an eat-up sometime. ^_^ Don't forget to "Nom" the ones you like best!

Spotted November 08, 2009These were actually pretty good! They weren't mushy at all, the tops were a little chewy, and the flavor was good. Medium dishes are only $3-4, so it was a pretty good deal too. -
