Howie L That would be debatable if it's better than Din Tai Fung. These are the best in NYC IMO. Best soup dumplings I've had are the ones from Nan Xiang Mantou Dian in the Yu Yuan Garden in Shanghai. One of those eating experiences that you remember for a long time.
Gastro Travels love, love love!!!
Alexa Andrzejewski I think these were MUCH better than Din Tai Fung (the LA one at least) -- the skins are a lot thicker and more textured, plus they're huge!
Droolius really? Better than Din Tai Fung in L.A.?? I must try these! Hopefully when I'm in NYC next week

Spotted February 26, 2010The xiao long bao aka soup dumplings (with pork) at Joe's were even better the second time I tried it. Each dumpling contains a thick, flavorful soup. Still, I like to drown it in the ginger vinegar that comes with the dish.
