As you know, OpenTable acquired Foodspotting in 2013, not only for its amazing content, but also for its incredibly loyal and engaged community. Since then, you’ve been instrumental in how friends and experts alike discover the best dishes across the world, and for that, we just want to say thank you.

But as the saying goes, all good things must come to an end. After much deliberation, we have chosen to discontinue the Foodspotting app and website in early May. If you’d like to keep all the photos you’ve captured over the years, we encourage everyone to take this opportunity to download your content. Click here for details

On behalf of our entire team, thank you again for using our product and for all the feedback you’ve provided along the way–we couldn’t have done it without you. If you have any questions or concerns, let us know and we’ll be sure to follow up directly.

2009年より運営してまいりました Foodspotting ですが、2018年5月上旬をもちましてサービスを終了させていただくこととなりました。

  • The legendary Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival kicks off next week! Whether you're going or just want to go next year… we have an amazing Foodspotting contest to get you excited about two 2012 headliners: Phish and Red Hot Chili Peppers.

TO ENTER Spot a chili pepper dish or fish dish anywhere in the United States - or - Spot any food item you purchase on-site at Bonnaroo to qualify to win a pair of 4-day tickets to the 2013 festival! Contest runs from June 1st to June 11th. Tickets are non-transferrable. NOTE: If you are spotting dishes at Bonnaroo, search for and use 'Bonnaroo' as the Place.

To satiate the tens of thousands of fans turning out to enjoy the festival’s 125 live performances this year, Bonnaroo will have over 70 different food options including three eminently popular NYC restaurants - and Foodspotting favorites - Roberta's Pizza, Crif Dogs and Baohaus.

Be a part of Bonnaroo or ensure your entry to next year's festivities by spotting away! You know you love chili pepper fish dishes anyway.

  • The sun setting over the crowd at GoogaMooga.

Last weekend, the stars aligned at the first ever Great GoogaMooga food and music festival in Brooklyn's beautiful Prospect Park. Though the lines were long, they only attested to the fact that good food, chefs, restaurants and bands, like The Roots and Hall & Oates, plus the chance to spend a beautiful Spring day with friends will always draw an enthusiastic crowd.

    Hard at work.

To get you guys in the Foodspotting spirit, we teamed up with the Great GoogaMooga on two fun contests. Huge thanks to everyone who came out to say hi, spot food and spend two gloriously sunny afternoons with us!

NYC Foodspotting ambassador Meng goes for it.

There was a pig roasting inside this heavy metal pig.

Our Orlando Foodspotting ambassador Julius was in town!

  • Though the Foodspotting team is made up of travel lovers and we're based all over the world, our headquarters are in San Francisco and it's where we call home. That's why we're excited about celebrating hometown chefs at this year's SF Chefs. SF Chefs is San Francisco's premier food, wine, and spirits festival that offers food lovers the opportunity to mingle with their favorite chefs, winemakers, mixologists and more culinary superstars at events hosted throughout the city.

Before the festival returns July 30th through August 5th, SF Chefs will take over the ballpark TONIGHT with SF Chefs at the Park, a preview festival before the SF Giants game against the Colorado Rockies. To get you pumped for the chefs' takes on ballpark food, they put together SF Chefs Guide to Ballpark Food just for you. Try the great food in and around the stadium and compare it to the chefs' versions!

We're pumped to be working with SF Chefs and hope to see you at one of the events. It's not too late to have a fun Monday night at the ballgame. Get tickets to tonight's game here and follow SF Chefs right on Foodspotting.

  • Editor's Note: Some foods transport you back in time while others remind you of a place. Tastykake does both. To celebrate these nostalgia-inducing treats from Philly, we teamed up with Visit Philly to highlight Tastykake-inspired dishes in the City of Brotherly Love. Thanks to Foodspotting ambassadors Brian Lim and Alexis Siemons for leading the eatup and collaborating on today's post!

Last week, Visit Philly and Foodspotting co-hosted an eatup featuring one of Philaldephia's most iconic brands, Tastykake. We began our excursion at Franklin Square’s SquareBurger where attendees indulged in Cake Shakes, a milkshake created with vanilla ice cream blended with Tastykake Butterscotch Krimpets.

Next we stopped by Chef Eric Ripert’s 10 Arts, just south of City Hall. To make their Tastykake ice cream, Chef de Cuisine Nathan Volz explained that they steep Tastykake Peanut Butter Kandy Kakes in heavy cream overnight to infuse the flavor before mixing with dark chocolate.

We wrapped up our dessert crawl at Square Peg where Chef Matt Levin introduced us to Tastykake Apple Pie Milkshakes. Combining Tastykake Apple Pie, Jim Beam, White Tail Caramel Whiskey, apple vodka and cinnamon, this boozy dish is a great example of how even childhood favorites can become grown up treats.

  • This time every year, the James Beard Foundation honors the best of the best in the food industry from chefs and restaurateurs to cookbook authors and food journalists to restaurant designers and architects and more. The Beard Awards are the highest honor for food and beverage professionals working in North America, so, needless to say, it's a pretty big deal for those who live, breathe, eat, work and advocate for good food.

To coincide with the JBF Awards — winners announced on May 4th and 7th — and the release of The James Beard Foundation's Best of the Best cookbook, we're collaborating with our friends at Chronicle Books in a Golden Ticket giveaway!

TO ENTER Simply launch the Foodspotting iPhone and Android apps, log in, and look for a 'Golden Ticket' within the stream to win a copy of The James Beard Foundation's Best of the Best title, plus other Food & Wine titles from the Chronicle Books library. (Retail value over $100.)

Additionally, Chronicle Books is offering Foodspotting users 30% off and free ground shipping in the U.S. for any title. Just enter promo code FOODSPOTTING at checkout. Click here to browse titles on the Chronicle Books site.

The contest will run for one week starting on Friday, May 4th, so get ready to launch the Foodspotting app. Look for a Golden Ticket to win a piece of JBF history celebrating the best of the best in food.
