  • First, we must apologize to the rest of the world. Our Holiday Rewards promotion is only for San Francisco. Why? Let's just say we're piloting something that we may roll out to everyone in the near future. It's sort of an experiment to make sure we get it right first. Don’t worry, we’re thinking about all of you!

But if you're a lucky San Francisco resident: For the entire month of December, spot any entree at over 70 of our favorite San Francisco restaurants and receive reward points -- 250 of them per restaurant! You can spot at every restaurant on the list - we dare you to try them all. This is our gift to this wonderful community of Foodspotters.

Unlike existing Reputation Points, at the end of December, everyone who earns at least 1000 (legit) rewards points by December 31 can redeem them for cash or tasty rewards like I Spot Food schwag, Photojojo gear, and Giftly gift cards for any restaurant you love!

Start earning rewards by heading to foodspotting.com/rewards for rules and more details or just open the Foodspotting iPhone or Android app in San Francisco anytime in December and turn to the Specials filter.

Happy holidays from everyone at Foodspotting!

    Adam Zolot
    Head of Local

P.S. Want us to bring Rewards to your city? Have thoughts on the concept? Got some dream prize ideas? Tell us in the comments!

  • Lately, it's been a monthly celebration of our love affair with street food. This month is no different with the beloved San Francisco Street Food Fest, presented by La Cocina, taking place in our hometown. The festivities will kick off this year with the city's first ever Night Market on Friday, August 17, followed by the SF Street Food Fest on Saturday, August 18.

Being the great Foodspotting pals that we are, we're teaming up with La Cocina to give away free tickets to both events!

To win yourself tickets to one of the two events, simply open up the Foodspotting iPhone and Android apps from now until August 16 to stumble upon Golden Tickets randomly in our Explore stream. Make sure you're logged in and keep checking back to increase your chances of winning.

  • One of San Francisco's biggest annual events, Outside Lands, is in its fifth year this August. Not only is it a fabulous music experience, the food and drink lineup also showcases the city's top dining fare.

From August 10-12 in Golden Gate Park, Outside Lands will feature a total of 86 music acts, including Stevie Wonder, Neil Young & Crazy Horse and Foo Fighters, AND over 200 local food, beer and wine options, such as Bun Mee, Maverick, Namu Gaji and American Grilled Cheese Kitchen. Bonus this year is the new Beer Lands, made up of 16 breweries.

Of course, we're teaming up with Outside Lands to give one lucky winner two 3-day passes to this year’s festival. It's easy: Snap a photo from any restaurant on the Outside Lands restaurants lineup, upload to Foodspotting with the hashtag #outsidelands and you will be automatically entered into a lottery for the chance to win. See the full list of restaurants.

If you're already going to Outside Lands this year, spot any of your meals at the festival with the same #outsidelands hashtag, and you could win tickets to the 2013 event.

Note: Entries to win the 2012 tickets will be accepted from now through midnight PT on August 5, 2012. The lottery will be selected at random. The winner for 2012 will be notified via email by August 6, 2012, and the winner for the 2013 tickets will be notified via email before the end of August. Tickets for both Outside Lands 2012 and Outside Lands 2013 are non-transferrable and re-sale is not prohibited. Please note guests of Beer Lands and Wine Lands must be 21+ to enter.
