Last night, we had the honor of participating in Eats & Apps
, an event designed to showcase the latest food-related apps in a casual restaurant setting. Our host venue was 4Food
, which, we must admit, is possibly Manhattan's most social media savvy burger spot and an ideal place for such a gathering.
One of the great appeals of 4food is their design-your-own burger program, which we were able to take part in last night. Turns out there are many, many ways to build a burger. Consider what's involved: Bun, patty, filling, toppings, condiments, vegetables. The combinations are endless! After some debate, we decided on a brioche bun with a beef patty filled with potato-chorizo hash and topped with cheddar cheese. (Tomato and lettuce were added at the last minute to help meet our daily veggie needs.) We named it 4Foodspotting.
While I didn't get the chance to try the burger last night - see how hard I was working! - I went back today to try our creation. The verdict? I think we played it on the safe side and I'll say it did benefit from an extra shot of ketchup and mayo. (Then again, that's just me. I love mayo in most things.)
to our friends The Noble Rot
, Danielle Gould of Food+Tech Connect
, and Emily Cavalier of Mouth of the Border
for bringing together so many great apps and people at this Social Media Week
shindig. And for those who want to try our burger, just ask for the 4Foodspotting
next time you're in the city!
