  • Oysters and Pearls @ The French Laundry
    Spotted November 21, 2009
One of The French Laundry's most famous dishes. "Sabayon" of Pearl Tapioca with Island Creek Oysters and California Sturgeon Caviar. I loved this and wanted to lick the bowl, but that probably isn't a good idea in a fine dining environment ;)

Alexa Andrzejewski These were pretty substantially different from the real Osaka Takoyaki -- they were deep fried I think. But certainly good in their own right! And your photo is beautiful!

Courtney I haven't been fortunate to have Osaka Takoyaki, although I've had street vendor Takoyaki in Shibuya :) These definitely satisfied the craving.
