    Former Top Chef contestant Tiffani Faison opened her very own restaurant, a BBQ restaurant near Fenway Park and it has done very well so far and has been getting increased attention, especially because of her biscuits. Forbes recently named them the best in the US and having personally had them, I might agree. Four come in an order and they are huge, but oh so delicious. Try 'em out and find out for yourselves... you won't regret it.

    Michael's deli is a cash only, Brookline staple. It's been operating there for years and serves up Boston's finest NY-style deli sandwiches including their delicious corned beef sanwich which comes hot.     Nested near the Brookline Village T stop, Cutty's is only small in size, but not in flavors. Sure, their menu is limited, but what they serve, they execute perfectly. Just like their famous Spuckie sandwich which is packed with various fresh, cured meats and served in between some crispy, toasted bread. Amazing! And while you are at it, check out their desserts. Their Taza brownie is to die for.

    Despite not being located in the North End, this gem of a restaurant is completely hidden. Most would ignore the vibrant white sign outside and would never set food in it, and most would be mistaken. Inside this casual, friendly and family-owned Italian restaurant lies an amazing eaterie which serves up some amazing Italian fare. Order up any of their dishes and try their homemade fussilli, it's to die for. And don't skip dessert, their tiramisu is pretty damn good as well.

    Helmand is an Afghani restaurant located in Cambridge about a block from the Cambridgeside Galleria. Their food is very good across the board, but the lamb dishes are especially good. The seekh kabob is chunks of lamb leg marinated in onion, garlic, and sun-dried baby grapes. The kabobs are served with rice and sauteed eggplant.

    This establishment located across the street from both MGH and the Liberty Hotel, right at the bottom of Beacon Hills boasts an interesting beer selection along with a full bar and food menu. They serve lunch, dinner and brunch as well and serve up some pretty hefty portions. Be ready to eat. A lot. And try their mac and cheese - many rave about it's deliciousness.

    This restaurant by Ken Oringer, the owner of various other Boston-based eateries is inspired by Italian inotecas and features all kinds of Italian dishes along with an impressive wine list. This is also a tribute to the squealing animal that we all adore: the pig. Order five kinds of salumi to share for $35 and leave the place with a big smile on your face. It's all well worth it and delicious. From duck proscuitto to coppa and sopressa, it's all worth trying!

From tasty hard to find ones and various craft ones also comes an all-day and dinner menu where various dishes are served. So sit down, relax and enjoy their hummus plate, made in house, which is served with some toasted, crusty bread alongside some creamy goat cheese and some olives. Delicious.

    Located right near Porter Square, in the shopping gallery adjacent to City Sports and tavern in the Square, Sapporo ramen has few seats but the staff is friendly and now offers pork buns for $5. They are two per order and they pack a ton of flavor! You won't be disapointed.

    This Weymouth establishment is modest from the exterior but you'll find a very friendly owner and some delicious eats here. Not only does he import his poppy-seeded buns from Chicago but let me tell you right now folks, his Chicago-style dogs are the real deal with the works: onions, neon green relish, pickle spear, sports pepper, tomato and celery salt. It's awesome and best of all, you can sit outside at one of the four tables to enjoy it!

    This slightly pricey, dressy and famed restaurant is an absolute gem. Located right off of Copley Square, next to the new Mandarin hotel, it offers some French fare including this delicious dish of braised short ribs. Make room for their cheese platter, it's well worth it!

    Just a short walk from Harvard Square, Darwin's LTD offers a wide variety of sandwiches along with a baked goods, beverages and even free wifi. The place is busy and somewhat spacious but you might have to be patient to find a spot to sit down depending on when you go. Try their Kirkland Sandwich which features swiss cheese, Dijon, Russian Dressing, coleslaw, pickles, carrots, green Pepper and tomatoes.
