Pho is one of the most common and popular Vietnamese soup noodles in the country. This is my quest to find the very best and to recognize those that stand above the average joint you might find everywhere.

A modern take on traditional pho, but notable only for wide/thick rice noodles and a slightly better cut of beef filet.
A solid bowl, especially from a small food vendor. Highlights include the fresh wide noodles and having the option for ox tail.
Their signature item but I would recommend the pho dac biet for more variety and meat slices.
The small size is affordable but sparse on the ingredients. Bump it to a large.
A sister restaurant to Pho Ga An Nam, but specializing in the traditional beef broth as well as a ox penis version!
Not technically pho, but for those with a craving for soup noodles the Luu and Tung Kee chains offer a cheap, quick, and acceptable option.
A solid choice for the area. Can get busy.
They specialize in excellent chicken pho. The meat quality is excellent and all dark meat, but I still like the broth at Pho Kim Long better.

Their signature noodle is the dry hu tieu, but I think the clear broth pho is a better, albeit pretty muted flavorwise, choice.
The second outpost of Pho Wagon from Sunnyvale. Excellent quality ingredients from flank steak to cubed tendon.
After pho, hu tieu is my 2nd favorite noodle soup. The version here has crab claws and large prawns, but is pricier than many ($10.95)
