The prevalence of quality, inexpensive, authentic tacos is on the rise in New York City, and with a little perseverance you can get your hands on a wide range of offerings. The supply is finally catching up with the demand—from upscale spots like Toloache serving surprises like grasshopper tacos, to Sunset Park street trucks turning out superb street food.
But when we’re looking for a quick way to get our Mexican grab-and-go fix before heading out for a night of south-of-the-border-inspired drinking, we turn to takeout spots that offer great tacos at low prices (think of how many Dos Equis you can buy for the price of one order of Dos Caminos’s $22 guacamole).
