Spotted November 04, 2011If you've ever in Boston you MUST dine at Temazcal! It is a treasure hidden on South Boston's waterfront. After eating there I realized that I've never had authentic Mexican food. You will be amazed by the lushness of the flavors and the freshness of the ingredients. This tortilla soup was laced with saffron and accompanied by the best potato sticks ever, jalapeno peppers, cheese and avocado. Temazcal doesn't take reservations, so plan on waiting! In the summer months, attempt to get outdoor seating next to the water. The real name of the restaurant is Temazcal Tequila Cantina. I thought the name was a little trite until I saw on Temazcal's iPad menus that they serve over 100 varieties of tequila!! (I still think the name doesn't do the food justice.) Anyway, make a point of dining at Temazcal next time you're in Boston!

JanAgu My entree was mole poblano served over some incredibly tender chicken and topped with grated coconut. The chocolate flavor in the mole was wonderfully subtle. I ate it first without the coconut and then with the coconut. The coconut completely changes the flavor and makes it seem that you're eating a totally different yet equally delicious dish!
