A wonderful marriage of flavors and textures. Irresistibly flaky pastry, juicy peaches, crunchy caramelized walnuts, and subtly spicy ginger ice cream. I did find the ice cream had some ice crystals but it didn't detract from the overall dessert experience.
Had to add this to my order after seeing (and smelling) it at a neighboring table. The porcini mushrooms were wonderfully meaty and flavorful; the peas were sweet and added nice texture; and the noodles were perfectly cooked and swathed in a light but creamy sauce that carried all the flavors.
I dream about the white corn soup from Frances and make a point to get it whenever I see it on the menu. It's seasonal, and usually composed a little differently each time. To no one's surprise, I loved this version. The soup is incredibly silky and the sweetness of the corn really shines through. The yogurt adds a nice richness and tang, the figs are tender and slightly smoky, and the pistachios add wonderful texture and flavor.
I can't not get smitten's brown sugar caramel, especially with their classic vanilla. Unbelievably smooth texture, subtle flavor - you can really taste the sweetness of cream.
