Spotted January 09, 2010This is a yeast doughnut. They also have the same selection in cake doughnuts, I just couldn't get a good view of them on this trip :)

Alexa Andrzejewski Is it a jelly donut by another name? I have a weakness for jelly donuts...
Julie xactly what it is! The difference, though: the dough itself is not sweet. It's like a yeasty, eggy dough (flavor similar to challah, though more moist in texture), and the sweetness comes from the jelly and the powdered sugar! :) They were good from this bakery, but if you're ever in NY and want to try one, get it from Rzeszowska Bakery. Theirs were the best I've had since my grandmother's! And so fresh! :)
