What's not to love about a freshly griddled grilled cheese sandwich, especially when the ingredients are so good. The bread has a nice buttery crust from the grill and there is a ton of runny, melty cheese oozing out. The flavor combination of the buttery cheese, rye bread, and whole grain mustard work very well too.
This soup is seriously delicious. The peas are not remotely mushy so it doesn't have any of that baby-food texture. It's got a nice complex flavor, large hunks of ham, and subtle notes of brown sugar from the ham rub.
As soon as I walked into the shop and laid my eyes on the beef shawarma spit, I knew that's what I needed to have. It appeared to have a nice crust on the outside while still retaining plenty of moisture and tenderness on the inside. It came rolled up in two thin pitas with all of the usual middle eastern fillings and a tahini sauce and made for a perfectly enjoyable lunch.
This burrito did the trick. It's pretty large and tasty, but there's nothing really special about it and it's very oily.
This bowl of ramen is really rich and delicious. There is a deep flavor from the miso paste and pork bone broth and comes fully loaded with a ton of ramen noodles, a perfectly executed soft-boiled egg, seaweed, bamboo shoots, scallion, char siu pork, and more. I definitely find their pork to be lacking is the qualities I'd be looking for, but for the price and the convenience it's a great bowl.
This bowl of chopped, slightly chewy, raw octopus is definitely not for everyone. I, for one, love it and its bold wasabi bite.
On the weekends, this excellent bagel shop has a Nova Scotia lox special. They really load it up with plenty of lox, so I enjoyed this quite a lot, but I was a little disappointed that they do not have capers in the shop.
This is definitely one of my favorite late night eats. My trip to Sydney a year ago gave me a taste for meat pies after a night out and the ones from Tuck Shop always hit the spot. They didn't have my favorite filling, but the Guinness Steak is quite a tasty back-up.
I knew I had to check out this brand new Mexican shop when I heard about its opening. I went with a chorizo filled torta and it's quite delicious. The chorizo is the red, oily kind that I love and the torta bread itself is quite good.
Every time I come, this is what I get. The slow cooked lamb is very tender, moist, and flavorful and is cooked in galli sauce.
This roll fills a pliable parantha wrap with scrambled eggs, onions, green peppers, tomatoes, green chilies, with galli spices. The green chilies really pack a punch of spice!
