Huey's is known for their blues, brews, and burgers. In fact, Huey’s has been voted “Best Burger” in Memphis every year since 1984 by Memphis Magazine’s annual reader’s poll, and every year since 1990 by Memphis Flyer’s annual Best of Memphis poll. The also place frequently in other categories in reader polls. Perhaps the most exciting facet of Huey’s is the stucco wall and the frill pick contest. The wall is plastered with graffiti ranging from small messages in ink to large messages in lipstick. The frill picks are found with your entrée, and when put into a drinking straw, they are blown up into the ceiling where they stick until the contest. Then, entrants pay a dollar per guess, and the winner receives a $100 Huey’s gift card. The money collected is donated to the Memphis Zoological Society; to date over $45,000 has been donated.
