  • Fivepine Chocolate Porter @ Three Creeks Brewery
    Spotted May 01, 2012
One of the tastiest chocolate beers I've ever tasted. It's strong, but really smooth too.

Michelle McAleer That sounds awesome. Ok asking help. I am traveling to Portland in June. My work has an office in Clackamas. I would love to find some totally unique brewery or brewpub. Been to McMinimins yes. Southeast area of PDX

  • Savory Breakfast Biscuits @ Home
    Spotted March 12, 2012
I started with a box of Jiffy Buttermilk Biscuit Mix, added 1/2 cup of milk, egg, 4 tablespoons of honey; mix well. Sautee some sausage or Bacon w/ sea salt & pepper, a little cayenne pepper for kick; put aside to drain. Scrabble three eggs in the same pan; set aside to cool. Mix meat and eggs with Jiffy mixture by fluffing it together with a wisk. Spray six baking cups and divide mixture amoungst cups. Bake at 375 for about 10 to 14 minutes. Note: before taking out to cool sprinkle some honey over the tops, return to oven til browned.

You know, a lot of what I'm doing is inspired by other things. Portland, duh. What I'm reading, which lately is food magazines like Lucky Peach and bon appetit (great Southern issue in February). First time I ever tried cooking these...and I love em.

  • Mexican Hot Chocolate Ingredients @ New Seasons Market - Concordia
    Spotted March 12, 2012
I have been loving the Latin hot drinks for these cold and rainy Portland days. Ive been working on the perfect Mexican Mocha, and been using a mix packet, brewing the coffee fresh, and using 2% organic milk. Maybe I need to go creamier. This pic has some good ideas. Cinnamon sticks. That Southern chocolate looks amazing, and the company does a buttermilk white chocolate version. Intense.
