I'm a big fan of Fat Taco's al pastor. If you can get over the odd location (nightclub during the day) you'll be treated to large tasty tacos, easily twice the size of the average taco truck. I really like one of their red salsas too. Pictured: Spicy pork, al pastor, grilled shrimp
Yes it's touristy, but still a fun place to go for an Irish coffee (or two). The Buena Vista is credited as one of the first places in the US to serve Irish coffee.
Delicious! The top on the pot pie was some kind of cheddar covered biscuit. Filling was delicious and rich, but not too rich (especially for Brenda's). Didn't even notice my salad until I was 2/3 of the way through the pot pie.
Cocktail made with rye whiskey, tobacco syrup (!) and a little Punt e Mes. And... it's delicious! Like a really well executed manhattan with a kick. Exciting!

I've had this cocktail on three separate visits but sadly I was never better than my first encounter. I assume it's mostly because of different ingredients (e.g. Bonal replaced the Punt e Mes on my second visit). On my last visit, the drink was a bit too sweet (I believe the menu listed Cardamaro as an ingredient). Still an interesting cocktail, I just might ask them to try to recreate the original recipe.
I've heard a lot about Hapa Ramen but I wasn't all that impressed. This was the only ramen on the menu that wasn't sold out after 1pm at the Thursday market. My gold standard for ramen is Ippudo, NYC and as far as I know you can't get anything close to that in SF.
These Xiao Long Bao are legendary among my friends that had them when we first visited Vancouver. I'm happy to report they're even better than I remembered. I ate a whole order myself as an afternoon snack and got another order to go. Don't forget to try the black sesame rice ball soup for dessert!
