A tequeño is the most Venezuelan thing in the planet, period. It's a breadstick filled with queso blanco (fresh cheese) and it can be fried or baked. It's the most popular Venezuelan finger food in parties, especially weddings. People say a party is not a true Venezuelan party without tequeños.
Now these I tried for the first time in my life just a day ago. They are the lovechild of a tequeño and a cachapa. Cachapas are a traditional Venezuelan dish made from a sweet corn mix and shaped like pancakes, usually filled with cheese and/or pork.
I LOVED these tequeños. The came wraped in corn leaves and the white sauce is nata. I've only seen them here in Valencia.
