Kanafe is a Middle Eastern pastry dessert. This one is topped with pistachios and kashta [a lightish cream]. It's not very sweet and has a stretchy texture! I always have a lot of fun eating this.

I've been trying to decide whether I like the Lebanese version or Turkish version of kanafe more. I think I like the Turkish one better, as the texture is stringier and chewier! It feels a bit less dry than this Lebanese version, which is more crumbly. It feels a tad heavier. That doesn't mean I don't like this though!
