Are these like Tapioca balls?

These are glutinous rice balls in ginger syrup :)

I think I had something similar to this yesterday. It was Vietnamese. There were smaller balls, I think they said they were Mung Bean, and then larger balls which actually had like salty potato or something inside. Pretty interesting, especially for a dessert! :)

It might be closer to mochi if u would like to compare. i reckon its not as chewy like mochi but it also have peanuts fillings. delish!
