We went back again to this shop since it was not so impressive for the last time. Anything must have the second chance. The claypot is S$13 for two serving. It is so costly if compare with other good claypot rice that we have had before. I can accept this price for the quantities and qualities of the chicken, Chinese wax sausages and the pork belly. It consists too little of salted fish, lack of flavors and not smoky enough. They use small grains rice (i guess ponni rice?) instead of Jasmine rice. Even thou I love the crispy rice in the bottom of the pot but I really can't taste the rice because all became crisp and harden. The sizes of the pot effected the quality of the rice. The pot is too big to cook a small portion. If you order bigger portion like 4-6, I guess the rice will taste better. Conclusion, sorry to say, this restaurant will go down to bottom of my list.
It took about 30 mins for getting the claypot rice at the table. They still cook with charcoal to get smoky flavor. The rice had good flavor but not smoky enough for us. And also not enough salted fish. We only got the smell but couldn't taste any salted fish. If we were not wrong we spotted that they are using ponni rice. The portion is a bit small and costly if compare with another claypot rice shops. We still preferred at "Lian He Ben Ji " at Chinatown complex since they are bigger in portion, cheaper and more fragrant.
