Dried dittany at cretan countryside in , Crete

Dittany or DEE-ktamo or Erondas (=love), personally my favourite name, is a plant native solely to Crete. It's healing properties are the stuff of legend and poems and even today a house isn't considered complete without some dried dittany (like this sample) to add to warming tea or as seasoning to traditional dishes. I love the little pink petals.. :)
