What do you after a nice, big brunch at Alice’s Tea Cup? Go home and take a nap?! Nope. You take your belt down a notch and you head to Le Parker Meridien Hotel, not for a 5 stars nap but for a 5 stars burger. That’s right, a burger in an Hotel Lobby, only in New York!
This spot is amazing! You walk in a beautiful hotel lobby with two stories high celings, paintings, fancy sofas and you suddenly start smelling the odour of delicious Burgers. First you think it’s just your stomach & your brain ganging up on you and playing tricks to your ollfactive senses, sending a clear message that it’s Burger Time and then you spot the tiny neon sign at the end of the dark corridor which would usually lead to the men washrooms or the broom cupboard but behind the curtain there’s no mops or urinals but an awesome and cozy looking Burger Joint! Movie posters on the walls, along side of visitors graffiti delcaring their love for beef, great playlist, old school TV in the corner and more importantly gorgeous beef paties and bacon strips sizzling loudly on the grill.
Jason had told me when I first met him that this was his favourite Burger spot in the city and now I can say that I know why. My burger was truly fantastic. The meat especially was sssooo fresh and juicy, a perfect medium-rare. The bread is just great, particulary the bottom slice which gets all soggy from the meat juice dripping from the pattie.
I would triple nom this sighting if the option was availalble. This burger blew my mind and was the proof, once again, that simple, great, fresh ingredients, perfectly cooked and put between two slices of bread is all you need to make a customer truly happy.
