Takuan

Takuan is Japanese pickled radish root. The raw radish is sometimes called 'daikon.' Usually yellow (naturally or through food colouring), this version is pink and not to be confused with pickled ginger, which is usually coloured red or pink. Served as a garnish to a normal meal.
