I've heard the Mallard offers excellent cuisine, is this a good example of it - looks terrific?

I think you must have heard of a different Mallard :) This is just one of the chain of Harvester restaurants in the UK- they're pretty bog-standard family restaurants and their food isn't exactly excellent cuisine. It's more general than that, not upper class. The food is good as far as generic family restaurants go, but it's not like haute cuisine or anything :)

I like it too :) but I'm not too good with it! When I was eating this, I had to drink three glasses of water so steam didn't come out of my ears.

Forget the water, next time had a pinch of sugar ;)
