A failed attempted at shooting ice cream? (Horribly scooped) Probably one of the most difficult shoots I have to do. But also one of my favorite ice cream. Bi-Rite sourced their coffee from Ritual Coffee (I sure do love my coffee)

#DIYPHOTO: Setting coffee cup and spoon onto a coffee table. Cookies from Tartine Bakery was added to background. Ice Cream was added at the last seconds, blown with a straw around the edges to add interest. Some coffee grinds and sugar cane added to the foreground. This shot was taken tethered and tripod. Side lit with 4 reflectors, 2 white, a silver and a black. ISO100, 50mm, f/3.2, 1/8 sec

The Very Hungry Katerpilla I know some people who like to wait until their ice cream is melted before eating. So this might be perfect for people like that!

JamesMNgo Kat - A trick of what some food stylist would do is actually to slightly melt the outside edge of the ice cream (hence, the blowing with a straw). I just took too much time just scooping it. I totally understand the people who eat the melted ice cream, because I used to do that a lot especially when I was little, my teeth are way too sensitive.

The Very Hungry Katerpilla Oh I see.. but why? Is it to get yummy drippy shots or to cater for both hard and melted ice cream lovers? I've seen people who like to mush the ice cream up with their spoon and then leave it to melt further before eating.

JamesMNgo I guess it's just one of those rules where it makes ice cream more delicious looking. Haha, oh man, melting it further? that's hardcore!
