This was the best starter I had on the entire island Ameland! And I still dream about it...Sigh... It was thinly sliced Smoked Duckbreast, crispy toasted Sûkerbôle that's "Frisian Sugar Bread" and yes this is a sweet and sugar infused bread TDF... Beside it was some Duckliver Butter with a bit of thinly sliced Duck liver on top & something typical Dutch, we call it "Boerenjongens". That are in fact Raisins soaked in a Brandy like Dutch liquer we call Brandewyn! OMG, this dish made me want to order it twice... And next dinner party it will surely be our first course right here at home... Life is sweet!
