In my profile I've listed my blogs and all you have to do to find a recipe from Justafoodie's By Invitation is to go to my recipe blog. I set it up just in case family and friends wanted a recipe. :-)www.JustafoodieRecipeBlog.blogspot.com

P.S. When you buy dried porcini, look for the lightest color you can find. The dark ones have been oxidized and have lost much of their flavor. Over the Internet, Buon Italia in NYC has the freshest I have seen so far. Always refrigerate then to maintain freshness.

Thanks for your suggestion in the rue Mouffetard in Paris. The shop with the toys is the window was indeed very nice, and it has wonderful ingredients.

oh and I followed your advice to eat everything. I walked all day and burned some 3000 calories. But my intake was over 4000. Back to normal the day after tomorrow....

So glad you had a chance to find it. I have a gazillion photos of it but haven't had time to post them. As I calculate it, just all the thinking you'll do about all the food you were able to eat in Paris should burn up about 1000 calories in another day, so you're good! <]:O)

Hi, Kent, I only go to Scoma's on the Wharf as is was an old favorite of the family's. If you search it here, you'll see that they make a good martini! The Wharf is filled with trinket shops, so most locals don't spend time there. For excellent fish elsewhere, I'd suggest Woodhouse...just finished a RestoReco blog post on it last weekend. It's got 2 locations, one on UpperMarket in the Castro and my favorite on Fillmore St. Catch, another restaurant you can search here, had the best seafood soup I've ever had....I was trying to win a prize being offered on one of the Foodspotting Guides!!! I won too!

well my trip to SFO was an epic failure. I caught a stomach virus that put me down for the full weekend. Only thing that I enjoyed was some Vitamin Water and half a banana. I'll have to go back. I did walk over to Scoma and saw the menu, looked awesome, more of a nice dinner place to drop a pretty dime at then just a place for food sampling. thanks for the feedback however.

Randy, You were one of the posters who inspired me to do that, and if I don't start posting again soon, looks like I'll lose my place over there on the right...Or have you already posted 5009?
