Thank you Joan.... there is an egg just to the otherside, however the Chef added it into the dish. I had to send it back with lots of apologies to have him cook the egg until the Yellow was hard... I JUST do not like runny eggs.

Sometimes I'm okay with it. But I prefer eggs to be slightly medium.

I see a lot of "Soft Eggs" here on FS, however for myself... it has to be hard. I go into Thai Flavor a lot and I didn't want to insult the Chef by NOT eating the egg. I would have preferred that it not be in the dish, however since it was... I had to explain to him my phobia on Soft runny Eggs... I enjoyed it after it was cooked really nice and hard... lol I am sure he thought I was just a crazy American who does not enjoy a Soft Egg.. lol ;-)

Ooh, the egg's got to be runny! Great dish anyway, with or without the egg. ;-)

I can't have my eggs the same all the time. Or I will get bored. Lol. It truly depends on my mood on a particular day and what dish I have. But don't worry Mr Tommy, the entire dish looks excellent.

The Chef/Owner here at Thai Flavor is really great Joan. Someone said they went into his restaurant and ordered the same dish I had... He said however, what I received in portion did not look like what you got... I could not help but laugh. I said, when you Food Spot like we do here on Foodspotting, the Chef will treat you right when he sees and loves your photos. :-))

I'm American and I love my eggs soft or medium boiled! My eggs lightly scrambled so they still glisten with moisture. Yum! I just love eggs, I guess. No matter how they are prepared.

@Mr. Tommy - You HAVE to have the egg on the side! It's the best specially if you have the chef fry the egg Thai style which is kinda like deep frying it. Let the yolk soak in the rice! Absolutely my most favorite Thai dish ever when they use pork belly - "Pat Krapow Moo Krob"...ok I just made myself hungry.

If it was my choice I'd ask for two eggs, one hard and one runny... :)) Great Photo, Mr. T!!!

Thank you everyone on the wonderful comments.... I did not ask for the egg as it was a bonus to the dish. I know many enjoy "Soft" eggs, but it is just not for me. I guess each his own as they say... Chef Krit who is the Owner as well, treats me nice when I come into his place to eat... I felt bad that I had to ask him to cook the egg differently as I appreciated that he wanted to share how they eat This dish in Thailand. However, even if I was in Thailand... I would not eat a soft egg... Now... extra HOT peppers, I cannot see any Thai Dish with the peppers... So for those who eat Thai dishes with heat and they love the Egg... here is what I will do. If you eat a Thai dish at 5 Thai HOT, I will than eat a soft egg.... Every dish I order, is at least 5 Thai Hot and than I still add the Chilies on my food. To me, the Heat and chilies is what makes Thai food really great...

The hotter the better if you ask me, as for eggs I've come around to runny eggs, although I usually order over medium instead of over easy. Used to be I wouldnt eat an egg unless it was fried hard.

The eggs I had as a kid I always had my mom poke the yolks…I thought everyone had them that way. Then, on a father-son camping trip with the boy scouts I found out most people eat them over easy! (I was shocked and appalled) over the decades, I've grown to love them however they are cooked…when I go out for breakfast the toughest question for me is "how do you want your eggs?"

@Robert... Whenever they ask me how I want my eggs... I always tell them On a plate please... lol

I knew about your egg preference too Mr. Tommy. As for the raw egg comment, it's not to impress anyone just that I like eggs however they're served!
