Our family - still has 30 acres but the business has over 700 acres of blueberries! Island Grove, in N Central Florida was my Great Grandparents' plantation in the late 1800s. My Maternal Grandmother was born there in 1915.

@ Ventura - thats AWESOME! I am all about roots and family history! My paternal grandfather grew sugar cane and made his own syrup well into his 80s. The syrup mill on that family farm (just 3 miles south of the Georgia border) is still standing today.

My sister who is 62 just moved back to mexico to look after my parents. She will look after the estate and will hopefully keep on farming the land. I wish I had a green thoumb but I am brown. Otherwise I would love to go back to my country (region) and grow agave plants and drink tequila all day long! lol
