Too often, this soup tastes just like its aromatics. Not a bad thing, but it's just usually lacking in the savory department. Not the case here. The chicken broth is obviously made with lots of nam pla, a very homey touch, and one I like very much. The next most dominant flavor is lemongrass. This is the best I've ever had, because it tastes so homemade. Spectacular.

It's like a koobideh! In shape, at least. Firmer-textured than others I've had, with a generous ginger flavor. Most excellent.

Manolo Just tried this last night. Absolute worst most unauthentic version i have ever eaten in the world. Used to live in japan and now live in nyc so know what it's supposed to look and taste like. That said if you're looking for something "fusiony", you may like it. Everyone else, just stick with their sushi.

It's a simple combination of very basic tastes---sweet and savory---with a little bit of textural interest. A great way to start.

Markedly better during the summer. Could easily masquerade as a dessert, it's so sweet!

Just about every flavor you could think up---fermenty-fishy from the anchovies, sweet and savory from the rendang, sweet from the rice, I could go on...plus eggs, veggies, and peanuts. So many places to go wrong, but it manages not to. Share it---it's a very intense dish.

A nice stir fry. what you see is what you get in terms of ingredients, which isn't a bad thing at all.

Oh wow. For like $7.50 i am impressed. The chicken was nothing surprising, but very satisfying...but the green beans. THE GREEN BEANS! They're amazing! No idea what they do to them...looks to be some sort of stir-fry with a brown sauce. spectacular. A great cheap meal.

I think "satisfying" is the best way to describe this. It's a pounded, fried chicken breast over pita and rice (or potatoes). It's exceptionally crispy.

The Platonic examples of all three dishes. The greens were tender and juicy with plentiful, savory, smoky pot likker. The waffles were sweet and crispy-crunchy-soft, with a hint of cinnamon that was both unexpected and wonderful. The chicken was indescribably juicy and savory. There was not a single unpleasant thing about the whole plate.

Never had this one before. The aroma was reminiscent of a buttery baked good, or perhaps butter-sweated onions. The taste was tangy with lemongrass and just creamy enough with the coconut milk. The balance is impeccable, and not nearly as heavy as i would expect from a coconut milk soup.
