Much more rich than others I've had. Well-balanced, and great over rice.

  • Roti Canai @ Bellacan Grill-Tustin
    Spotted July 24, 2010
A nice appetizer, in that it does exactly that---whets your appetite. The roti itself is thin and crispy-flaky, and the curry sauce is thin, so it doesn't just bog the roti down. It's like an analogue to bread before the meal, but doesn't fill you up as much, a very good thing.

Not extravagantly spicy, but enough to get you interested. Tasted like a curry should, with the layer of fat on top. The fresh basil was invigorating!

  • Asa curry @ Cream Pan
    Spotted January 12, 2010
The breakfast version of their thick, rich beef curry. The rice is the epitome of what short grain rice should be, and the curry is especially hearty.

  • Green Chicken Curry @ Thai Recipe Restaurant
    Spotted January 11, 2010
This one's the happy medium on the curry spectrum---not too thin, not too watery. It's rich with coconut milk, and chock-full of bamboo shoots. The dinner portion (with rice) is enough for two people. Don't try to tackle this one by yourself. It's quite spicy here.

  • tonkatsu curry rice @ Cream Pan
    Spotted December 18, 2009
I've never had a Japanese curry before. I liken it to a smokier Chinese yellow curry. The tonkatsu dethrones Aki's in Berkeley because there's much more meat. Rice is a wonderful short-grain Japanese rice. Gone in like five minutes, because it's that good.

  • chicken vindaloo @ House of Curries
    Spotted November 18, 2009
Vindaloo is an adaption of a Portuguese dish, and it's quite good. It's got a piquant spice---not too much in the terms of lasting heat, and never spicy at the start, but enough heat to be very enjoyable. It's hard to place what's in the dish besides chicken and potatoes, but I think there's garlic going on here. It's awesome. Goes intensely well with the garlic naan.
