Spotted August 01, 2010We ordered this at a five out of ten spiciness level, and it still ranked up there with the hottest thing I've ever eaten. Very different from the typical central Thai curries, this one lacks coconut milk and packs a wallop of turmeric and an increased flavor of some sort of fermented fish. Hearty and pungent, and thoroughly enjoyable. -

Spotted July 06, 2010Not extravagantly spicy, but enough to get you interested. Tasted like a curry should, with the layer of fat on top. The fresh basil was invigorating!

Roshan Simple, tasty, filling.

Spotted March 28, 2010Oh man. I have been lucky to have increasingly pleasant experiences with this curry, and I think I've found the apex. Most of the time, this is one of the more coconut-cream-heavy curries at any given Thai restaurant. Not so here. While the flavor's there, it's not overpowering, and while the texture is creamy, it's in an emulsion-creaminess. If that makes sense. Nonetheless, it's savory and wonderful. It's pretty mild too. I think i would have liked it spicier, but I don't often see hyper-spicy panang curry. The eggplant was great too. i think the meat was pork, and it was a positively perfect pot-roast-like texture. PLUS they serve sticky rice as an option with it so I was wayyy happy. Best panang I've ever had. -

Spotted January 11, 2010This one's the happy medium on the curry spectrum---not too thin, not too watery. It's rich with coconut milk, and chock-full of bamboo shoots. The dinner portion (with rice) is enough for two people. Don't try to tackle this one by yourself. It's quite spicy here. -

Spotted December 30, 2009Whoa. This curry blew me away. I love it when panang is peanutty, and this one delivered without making me feel like i was eating peanut butter. The spice is the type that hits you when you're halfway through the bowl, and it's just enough to keep the blood flowing. The sweet-savory-spicy balance is perfect. This possibly the best curry i've ever had at any Thai restaurant. -
