Spotted August 21, 2011also part of the lunch set that comes with a plateful of appetizers, miso soup and rice. one of the better teriyaki salmons you'll find, where the salmon isn't actually overcooked. beautifully treated; soft, fleshy texture and not a bit of toughness to be found in the muscles. -
Spotted August 13, 2011blue cod, if i remember correctly. forgive the murky recollection - it happens when you post a sighting one too many weeks after the actual outing har har. part of the breakfast menu. an open faced sandwich with greens and lightly flour-battered fish atop. fish once again cooked to perfection.-

Spotted June 14, 2011this was pretty bad - i probably wouldn't want to ever have it again even if someone offered to foot my bill. nothing particularly wrong with the ingredients used, but the laksa soup was so tepid and blah. probably also worth noting that the food comes out of the kitchen suspiciously quickly. -
Spotted June 04, 2011an abundance of oh-so-slightly-sweeter than usual sauce over seven balls of creamy yumness. great takoyaki - just not as great as sakanaya's. -
Spotted May 28, 2011ironically, i feel like sakanaya fared a lot better where raw fish wasn't concerned at all - we were surprised at how amazing their takoyaki was. i've had my fair share of incredibly mediocre takoyaki, so i didn't anticipate the slight crustiness of these octopus balls that have the most decadently soft, molten insides. and with a moreish savouriness to its flavour too. -
Spotted March 11, 2011pretty decent - melty on the inside with the slightest bit of crispness on the skin. various fillings - i had an octopus and another scallop one. fillings were rather chewy. i'm not sure if they're meant to be that way, though. and at $8.00 for six of these particularly small takoyakis... -
Spotted January 31, 2011a pleasant crispness, but the crab itself doesn't quite cut it for me, esp in terms of meatiness and juiciness. -

Spotted January 20, 2011we tried another four flavours, but imma just lump it all into one category, cause really, all mussels cooked in pots look pretty much the same. 1, poulette (white wine, bacon, veg, cream): white wine flavour's not very strong and it's more creamy than anything else - surprisingly quite the let down. 2, blue cheese (w veg and lemon juice): not overly pungent, but waaaaay too salty. 3, mushrooms (w veg in what they say is a basil broth, but it's really like a cream broth + pesto): uh tastes like pesto and a very subtle mushroom cream. yes. 4, siam (tom yum, thai basil, coconut cream): personal favourite, simply because it doesn't just taste like cream *rolls eyes*. all in all a fun eat, but not exactly impressive food. -

Spotted January 18, 2011overcooked. too tough. the hoisin sauce was a huge saviour - had a tangy kick to it that you wouldn't find in a traditional version. -
