Spotted August 21, 2011only had this the following day (take away), so some of the rose petals have flaked off. i half expected this to taste like regular chocolate after our dubious experience with the wasabi truffle, but this was surprisingly fragrant. chocolate's well made too. clean snap. -
Spotted August 21, 2011looks deceptively run-of-the-mill, but this is absolute ace. even has a generous seam of THAT CHOCOLATE CARAMEL running along the top of the base layer.-

Spotted August 21, 2011their infamous - comes scooped out of a large cauldron sitting stop the counter. comes in different varieties (spicy, regular, and a couple of other exciting variations i can't recall). we went for the standard - pretty good - milky and (if this makes sense) chocolate-y enough without being overly dense or cloying. i can see why it's a crowd favourite.-

Spotted August 21, 2011quite decent - rich, although a little sweeter than i'd usually like my chocolate (this obviously chalks up to personal preference, though)-

Spotted May 27, 2011aah still the best. in the most random of places (amongst the mass of AUT buildings) lies a food cart that only makes churros; churros with a crisp exterior you wouldn't find anywhere else in the city.-

tamarillo Yum!! - discovered toro churro close to the silos at Wynyard Quarter... great churros and wanted more... went back the next day but the cart was gone so had to goto Dos Amigos Mexican Cantina in Mission Bay :-)

Spotted April 22, 2011they've got the fluffiness of the texture right, but the crust yields a little too much to pressure and wouldn't stay crisp for as long as turo churros' would. doesn't have the rich egginess of turo churros' too (sigh). not too bad a choice if you're having a late night churros craving, though.-

Lil Mmm that looks so terribly bad!

Spotted April 22, 2011not too bad, although the mousse is a little more gelatin-ed and sugared up than i'd like. the ratio between mousse and sponge cake is rather... unusual, too.-

Spotted April 15, 2011beautiful mousse-esque layers of varying densities play off one another to add depth to the cake. a chocolate ganache glaze i simply couldn't get enough of. -
Spotted January 27, 2011toasted marshmallows and walnut truffles. tasty, but nothing exciting. mmm marshmallows have got an unconventionally fluffy texture though, which was nice. -

Spotted January 18, 2011one VIP truffle, three grand marnier truffles, four passionfruit truffles. in increasing order of preference; passionfruit, VIP, grand marnier. all filled. grand marnier's got a strong aroma of its namesake. can't say i'd be buying these anytime soon though; at 2.00 AUD per piece, it's way too overpriced for the merely decent (but admittedly enjoyable) quality. -
