Spotted August 11, 2011WARNING: half a dozen shoddy pictures incoming. all absolutely nothing to do with the amount of sake consumed that night. a starter served complementary to people who book in advance. actually one of my favourites of the night for its sheer succulence - even better than ones from izakaya specialists ken and tanuki, imho. pretty sure glowing opinion has nothing to do with amount of sake consumed that night either. -
Spotted June 04, 2011cut thicker than it's supposed to be, but my friend reckons that's what makes each individual slice so juicy.-

Spotted June 04, 2011an abundance of oh-so-slightly-sweeter than usual sauce over seven balls of creamy yumness. great takoyaki - just not as great as sakanaya's. -
Spotted May 28, 2011ironically, i feel like sakanaya fared a lot better where raw fish wasn't concerned at all - we were surprised at how amazing their takoyaki was. i've had my fair share of incredibly mediocre takoyaki, so i didn't anticipate the slight crustiness of these octopus balls that have the most decadently soft, molten insides. and with a moreish savouriness to its flavour too. -
Spotted April 08, 2011pork potstickies. pleasantly floury yet thin skins. nothing special, but not a bad order. i find it amusing how a friend of mine compares everything she tries here to the ones she tried in mentatz (which she incidentally did not enjoy very much)-

Spotted March 11, 2011pretty decent - melty on the inside with the slightest bit of crispness on the skin. various fillings - i had an octopus and another scallop one. fillings were rather chewy. i'm not sure if they're meant to be that way, though. and at $8.00 for six of these particularly small takoyakis... -
Spotted January 31, 2011tender meat, no fatty bits as far as i can tell, and a crisp skin that is quite the perfection in both thickness and bite. -

Spotted January 14, 2011quite good, quite good. comes with four halves of a crab. not the best, but sufficiently juicy (although the legs were a hollow kind of spindly). comes with a single block of battered firm tofu sitting in the bed of tangy dipping sauce. -

Spotted January 10, 2011very irregularly salted. a couple of my eating companions enjoyed the crunch in the edamame, but i prefer my edamame softer and close to being borderline mushy. personal preferences. -

Spotted September 05, 2010not bad. pretty decent for $9.00. i've gotta admit; their chicken is indeed perfectly grilled, but the sauce was a little lacklustre. -
