Spotted August 21, 2011the basic beef fergburger on the left and the wild Fiordland deer with thai plum chutney, lettuce, tomato, red onion & aioli on the right. the beef is just okay; deer's pretty good. the fergburger probably was the most underwhelming burger out of the five we tried, actually. their buns are pretty amazing; light and fluffy with a crisp, crusty skin - baked in-house at the newly opened fergbaker next door (which incidentally has a pretty decent vanilla bean tart). -
Spotted June 04, 2011juicy patty (a rarity in a world where it should really be the norm) and crisp bacon. burger sits atop four house-cut potato wedges. a generous pot of aioli for no holds barred dipping is graciously brought to the table upon request. tasty, but nowhere as 'revel'ationary (i know, i know, bad pun) as the vegan burger. -
Spotted March 18, 2011wonderful - the rich, velvety tofu had been well marinated in an almost miso-like flavour while the thick cheesy crisp netting attached to the top bun is fastened to the toasted bun with a creamy peanut satay sauce that is slightly sweet, slightly savoury. bottom bun was equally as toasty and doused with tomato sauce. only complaint - too much of the salad greens that come with literally no dressing detracts from the amazing flavours in the rest of the dish. the pink pickled slaw that comes as part of the salad greens were a hit, though. -
Spotted January 27, 2011the infamous $10 wagyu burger. actually quite decent - i can see why it's so hyped up. the burger patty is juicy, not fatty and actually tastes like meat. served with melted cheese, a sparse serve of leaves and beetroot. the bun is delightfully toasty and crisp on the outside, although the bread itself is a little dry and lacklustre. -

Spotted January 23, 2011tart crust, poached apples, ice cream. as straightforward as it gets, but still my personal favourite of the four we tried (but i'm a sucker for tarts, so my judgement is heavily biased, especially when the tart shell is made so well). nothing special about the flavours - all the standard stuff. tart shell deserves special mention again, though, for it's thin shortcrust that holds together so well - dignified and not at all messy. -

Spotted December 04, 2010homemade angus beef patty & bacon. turned out a little different from the desc in the menu - the aioli was most definitely mayonnaise instead and the tomato relish was a no-show. on an unrelated note, i suppose it was still decent as a whole, but i wouldn't order it again.-

Spotted November 15, 2010not sure how it was, but it was a pretty damn huge serving, with the chicken spilling out of the burger. i tried a bit of the chicken - it's very slightly too tough for my liking, but i can't vouch for the quality of the rest of the meal. they do claim to make their own aioli, though (which looks all sorts of awesome drooling over the burger bun here) -

Spotted November 08, 2010decent bar food. burger was filling, although a little skimpy with the caramelised onions and the fries were kinda blah. their aioli is to die for, though. -

Spotted September 08, 2010double patties, hash brown, bullseye, caramelised onions, and a single lettuce leaf just because they feel obliged to provide a healthy, balanced meal like that. definitely capable of hitting a spot or three in empty tummies, though i should warn you; my review may be just so slightly affected by their buns. i'm such a sucker for skillet-toasted burger buns sigh -

Spotted September 06, 2010don't they all start to look the same to you? cause they sure do to me. i'd think that unless you order one of their higher price point burgers, it's a case of "tried one, tried it all". -
