At an early age, my standards for chocolate chip cookies have been set high. Every Sunday, my mom would buy me Famous Amos cookies in Yaohan (Kota Kinabalu). I could remember savouring the aroma and flavor of fresh off the oven chocolate chip cookies. Every cookie I've had so far simply pales in comparison to those bite-size treats. There are, unfortunately, no Famous Amos stalls here in the Philippines. My brother was kind enough send me these cookies from Singapore. Eating them brought back so much childhood memories. :)
It doesn't take a lot of effort to transform the lowly canned sardines into a gourmet entrée. Sautée garlic and onions in olive oil, then add canned sardines in tomato sauce. Let it simmer then add yoghurt (or all-purpose cream). Let it simmer again then add cubed cheddar cheese and ripe mangoes. Once cheese has melted, it's ready to serve. Good with rice, but better with pasta.
Café Breton has, bar none, the best crêpes in the Philippines. The birthplace of the La Pinay, this restaurant offers a wide selection of savoury and dessert crêpes that will satisfy your every craving. However, aside from their tried-and-tested crêpes, Café Breton gives you the option to create your own crêpe. With a wide selection of fillings, toppings and sauces, the possibilities are endless! The result of my first attempt to create my own delicious treat is a crêpe filled with bananas and cream cheese, generously drizzled with condensed milk and topped with a scoop of blueberry ice cream. Simply divine! And to make things better, after receiving the bill, I found out that my crêpe cost less than the ones already in the menu. T'was such a welcome surprise. Now I can't wait to try out other combinations! :)
Breading-less double fried chicken wings hand-painted with soy garlic sauce with lots of fries on the side. Their sauce is full-bodied, way better than BonChon! A must-try. :)
My futile attempt at a Goodday Photo shot. Haha! Will try to take a photo with a plane taking off next time. :) Assam black milk tea infused with toffee and hazelnut. Tasted good, but I liked the Creme Brulee Milk Tea more.
